About My Clients
I believe a am a different kind of therapist because there is not a sense of separation between the client and c. There are times when a person finds themselves facing concerns they believed would never happen to them. A difficult diagnosis, a divorce or infidelity, a sudden loss of a loved one can make one feel lost and out of control. You find yourself wanting someone to talk without judgment. I offer that safe space to help you overcome the anxiety that unplanned change can cause.
My Background and Approach
I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my Master's degree at Antioch University in Santa Barbara. In 2016, I acchieved my doctorate in Applied Clinical Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My background is in Positive Psychology, Person Centered Psychology, Indepth psychology CBT, EFT and Narrative therapy. I believe that counseling is a safe place for you to address the challenges you are currently experiencing. You have a story to tell and no one to hold your emotions and fears. When you learn that you or a loved one has bendiagnosed with cancer, how do you voice your fears and yes, anger. I believe I have a warm and empathic nature and approach to the transitions life can throw at us. I believe in the true and lasting value of the therapeutic relationship and how it can help one find the correct path out of emotional turmoil.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that pets, and nature can help with anxiety, depression, and grief. I have helped clients through the loss of a loved cat or dog. I have found that some of our relationships with our pets van be stronger and deeper than with our friends or family. Quite often, you may talk to a parent once a week, and yet the dog is our daily companion, lives with us, eats with us, and listens and very seldom complains. No wonder we feel the loss of a pet so deep;y. I do offer grief and loss support for those who have lost a pet. In addition, I also offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy for those who would like to experience the healing nature of the horse.
