About My Clients

My work focuses on assisting people who have been abused and neglected improve their quality of life. Social work is not just a job, this is an opportunity to change the way someone sees the world. My training and focus areas include: -Anxiety and depression -Phase of life changes, grief, and loss -Life stressors and next steps (includes coping with caregiver role with a special need child) -Substance abuse issues -Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, psycho-dynamic therapy

Hello, my name is Patricia Rameau, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker based out of New York City with 16 years of experience working with at risk children, families, and adults. Born and raised in Bronx, New York City to immigrant parents from Haiti and Martinique, I am well versed and respects the need for cultural competence. I am a committed advocate who has a passion for helping to identify and understand another person’s experience and point of view. I believe that stepping into someone else’s shoes and recognizing that experiences, perceptions, and worldviews are unique to everyone. I am currently licensed in New York and Connecticut.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In working with clients, I prioritize building relationships and advocating for vulnerable communities with hopes of creating social change. I am by your side every step of the way on this journey. In my spare time, I provide parent education and training workshops to parents with special needs children in order to empower them with the power of information. In addition, resources are provided in obtaining services for children diagnosed with Autism. Advocacy is important to me, particularly in under-served communities who do not have the resources to access services they qualify for. Fun Facts about me: -I enjoy outdoor activities with my young son. -I volunteer to provide advancement to individuals in my community. -I was born and raised in the Bronx, to immigrant parents from Haiti and Martinique.
