About My Clients
Often our hurtful experiences are out of our control. You didn’t choose to live with pain. You are tired of feeling alone and misunderstood. The reality is our painful experiences and memories can shape our beliefs and worldviews, creating mistrust, shame, anger, and isolation. Living with chronic pain, illness, trauma, anxiety, and grief – does change us. Even if you don’t feel like it at this very moment, there is part of you that knows they deserve something more.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me is conversational. I offer an authentic, down-to-earth, patient, and creative approach to counseling. We are all unique, with different worldviews, strengths, and needs. So, I do not believe in one therapeutic model. During our time, I may implement mind-body approaches, parts work, and other anti-oppressive approaches. I love working from an acceptance perspective, and often challenging societal norms. My work is influenced by HAES and culturally sensitive beliefs, and approaches. I welcome all humans of different backgrounds, genders, races, and beliefs. My values and approaches are LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. You don't have to show up how the world thinks you should be -just how you are. You're safe with me. Please visit my website to schedule a free consult at www.thevirtualcouchtherapy.com :)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Person of Color, woman, and individual living with a disability I acknowledge, the influence of societal factors on our worldviews, so I always incorporate a person-centered, culturally sensitive approach in all of our work. I strongly believe that society often forces us to behave what we create a "normal". In navigating this world, our "issues" arrived due to living within societal expectations and what we actually want.
