About My Clients
Life is full of transition, uncertainty, and fear. Now, more than ever, we are all faced with exceptional obstacles to having the most fulfilling life that we could have. We get stuck in patterns at work, in our social lives, in our families, in our self-talk, and those patterns can hold us back. I can help you to revamp those patterns using common-sense, affirming techniques in the context of a genuine, positive, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Connecticut and New Jersey. My virtual practice and multi-state licensure make me ideal for a client who tends to travel between states frequently, or any client for whom the flexibility of teletherapy is attractive. I have the experience to help my clients pursue their goals and am young, energetic, and humble enough to do so with gusto and without ego. I great love and respect for the LGBTQ+ community and am an avid and active ally. Many of my current clients are queer and it has been a gift to work with them. I have also had the pleasure of working with several neurodivergent clients to the point where neurodivergence has become a bit of an unofficial specialty for me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My most treasured personal belief is that all people are deserving of respect, dignity, agency, love, and happiness. All people. I am active in my local community, volunteering with my local Mutual Aid organization and LGBTQIA+ community center. I believe that the best way to celebrate and show gratitude for the privilege I have is to reach out to others who lack such privilege and share whatever I can. Body positivity/fat positivity and Health At Every Size are incredibly important to me. It is a privilege to work with clients to help them to renounce the external standards that have hindered their self esteem and to watch them learn to love themselves and feel truly comfortable in their skin.
