About My Clients
I specialize in maternal mental health which means moms who are struggling with issues such as postpartum depression and anxiety. Sometimes moms just need a little help adjusting to motherhood and I provide a safe space where they can learn how to cope with this major life transition as well as other challenges that parenting presents.
My Background and Approach
I practice from a cognitive behavioral approach where I help clients challenge problematic thoughts and find ways to adapt alternative ways of thinking. I am also client centered meaning my clients drive the direction and pace of their therapy while I serve as their guide. My experience includes working at a psychiatric/addiction hospital, play therapy for children, working as a care advocate for managed care companies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support the Black Lives Matter movement and have been involved in protests for anti-racist moms in my community. I volunteer at my local elementary school and am passionate about helping families in need of financial assistance through our school's community foundation. I am also involved in Postpartum Support International and have committed to helping fight the stigma of mental health through their initiatives for maternal mental health awareness.
