Welcome! My name is Parker I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am happy you decided to look at my profile.

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist in Fullerton, CA
Supervised by Beth Patrick, PhD, LMFT

About My Clients

I have experience with a variety of populations and concerns. I love supporting individuals, families, and couples facing the effects of complex trauma. I am also passionate about working with parents and caregivers who are facing disconnection or major developmental transitions. I love supporting folks who identify as being apart of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals, couples, and families who are navigating complex trauma.

My Background and Approach

My philosophy is that we heal when we see ourselves clearly, and that this allows us to more fully show up for ourselves and others. I believe that it is in the safety of an authentic, motivated, and unconditionally accepting therapeutic relationship that we find the capacity to accept ourselves and others fully. While this may sound simple, we are all familiar with the complexities of life and relationships that make this process difficult or even impossible. As your therapist, I will ask the tough questions, offer support, and walk alongside you as you gain awareness of these complexities and determine new ways of facing them that are in alignment with your strengths, resources, and values. I am greatly informed by Gestalt therapy, which means that I pay a lot of attention to the present moment, the impact of social and environmental factors, and the therapeutic relationship as a helpful model for supportive relationships.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as anti-racist and abolitionist. All of my interventions are trauma-informed and sensitive to the impact that trauma has on the body. I believe that socioeconomic factors like class play a significant role in our mental health. I believe that race, ethnicity, and cultural background play a significant role in our mental health. I believe that gender presentation, experience, and socialization play a significant role in our mental health. As a systems-oriented therapist, I consider the significance of all of the systems of which you are a part, whether that's your family, your local community, and our shared global community. I consider myself an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and am trans-affirming. I am a vegan and consider the exploitation of animals to be inextricably tied to the exploitation of human beings. I am a White, cisgender woman who is committed to undoing my biases on a daily basis in my interactions and work.
