I serve adolescent, young adult, and adult populations. I have had experience in treating depression, and mood disorders, grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, phase of life problems, parenting skills and relationship distress.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I’ve had the fortune of doing this work across different states (IN, MA, FL) in the US, allowing me to recognize how one’s unique environment and culture impacts their wellness. Being someone who immigrated to the US myself, and practiced in different socio-cultural environments, I practice consciousness and sensitivity to individuals of all cultural backgrounds, sexual and gender identities, and disabilities. My intention is to understand the intersectionality between the factors that identify us and those that support our mental and emotional health. Some approaches I use in therapy include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
