About My Clients
Being a teen is tough enough--but it can feel nearly impossible when you add trauma, family conflict, anxiety, or being made to feel like an outsider because of your identities. I welcome young people ages 10+, particularly LGBTQIA+ young people, teens of color, and teens with chronic illness or disabilities. No matter what brings you here, I will partner with you as you discover your unique strengths and resources for growth.
My Background and Approach
Therapy doesn't have to be be boring or intimidating--it can be fun! Expressive arts activities, writing prompts, games, and hands-on skills can spark growth and change in my therapy sessions. As a licensed therapist and clinical supervisor who has been in practice for over a decade, I've dedicated my career to serving kids and teens (ages 10+) who have been pushed to the margins, particularly youth of color, the queer and trans community, and youth with disabilities. Before starting my private practice in 2019, I spent five years serving girls and trans youth at a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people. There, I learned that teens are the experts in their own lives, and since then I've committed to making sure their voices, experiences, and goals take center stage in therapy with me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I promise that you are welcome with me. I promise I will listen without judgment, and hold space for whatever you're going through. I'll do my best to understand your experiences, while knowing I can never truly walk in your shoes. I am guided by intersectional, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed values in both my work and life. I am actively engaged in queer, antiracist, and disability justice cultures and communities, and provide university lectures and community trainings on disability advocacy issues.
