About My Clients
My professional experience spans over several years and includes work with a wide variety of clients including young children, adolescents, adults and families. As a multicultural, bilingual Spanish-fluent therapist, I have expertise treating a wide array of presenting problems including anxiety, depression, anger issues, life transitions, domestic violence, sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, family conflicts, relationships issues, gender identity / LGBTQ+ issues, and grief / loss.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Social Work from Evangel University in 2015 and went on to receive my Masters of Science degree (M.S.W.) in Social Work from Dominican University in 2017. I have gained invaluable experience working in many different roles as a mental health professional. I have been especially involved in working with the Black and Latinx communities in my home states of California and Illinois. I’ve had the honor to assist my clients in overcoming generational traumas, have provided education and training on the importance of mental health and emotional well-being, and have offered a safe space where my clients can be heard, understood, and empowered. My therapeutic approach is integrative and combines elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, trauma / LGBTQ+ informed care, and multicultural theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Throughout my career, I have served as a tireless advocate for immigrant groups, refugees, and people of color. I am passionate about social justice issues and working with groups that may face discrimination or harassment. I believe strongly in the power of hope and equal opportunity to transform lives. I have always strived within my career to serve as a strong voice and advocate for my clients - connecting them with resources and serving as an agent for change.
