About My Clients
Do you often feel self-critical? That although on paper you have it all, there is a lurking sense of sadness or uneasiness? Perhaps there are some wounds that have not been cared for? You are not alone. Carrying around the burden of unresolved trauma can be exhausting and chip away at our sense of joy. In our work together, we will slowly deepen our understanding of how you continue to be impacted by these experiences and learn skills to rewrite your relationship with yourself and others.
My Background and Approach
I have two masters in clinical psychology and have worked with a diverse range of cultures. My therapeutic approach integrates attachment based perspectives with ACT. In therapy, we take time to explore your past struggles and important relationships in order to better understand how these stories have shaped you. Often these reflections enable clients to view themselves with more understanding and self-compassion. As therapy continues, I support clients in experiencing others and themselves in more adaptive ways. This can include skill building with techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is an evidence based model that encourage adaptive thinking and behaviors, particularly for anxiety and depression. I work hard to co-create the safe space where you can trust me. It is important to me that you feel my care for in the way I show up - with curiosity, genuine empathy and without judgement. I believe in my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with people. My personality and innate curiosity, along with a strong sense of 'to each his own' proved to be a good combination for my chosen career. Part of the conviction to study psychology was related to wanting to better understand my own struggles. Having been both a client and a therapist, I have immense faith in the process and in our inner intuition - the need to feel heard, understood and guided towards healing. I enjoy dark chocolate, being in nature and good books (Brandon Sanderson fans will get priority treatment! Just kidding, I don't discriminate ;)). Wishing you the best, reach out if I sound like an ally who could walk with you on your journey towards change!
