My years of hospice experience, as well as my personal losses, have provided me with a solid background in grief and bereavement support. Deep grief is a normal response when a loved one dies, but many people benefit from the support of a grief professional to help them learn healthy coping skills. When a loss is sudden or traumatic, grief support is even more important.

In addition to personal experience as a caregiver, I have worked with family caregivers who provide care for older adults for nearly 30 years. Caregiving is a tremendous challenge, so I offer free caregiver workshops to provide support and resources. Past clients include caregivers for older adults living with dementia, intellectual and physical disabilities, and life-limiting illnesses.

My background is in medical social work, so I am very familiar with supporting clients with resources and treatment for chronic illnesses and long term, life-altering pain.

Integrative counseling is a holistic approach to mental health that combines physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of your experience, while also honoring your unique goals. This customized approach for coping with stress and grief allows you to feel calmer and more focused, with healthier relationships, and improved quality of life.

I have advanced training in this model, because it strongly informs grief therapy. Often, complicated grief is related to insecure developmental attachments.

I have been studying and practicing mindfulness techniques for over 20 years. I introduce these skills to every client, so that they can cope with distracting thoughts and learn to be present in their body.
