My ideal client is someone that is open to allowing me to help them reach their desired goals, and improve their mental and overall well being. I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and groups. Some of the treatment interventions used and diagnosis I've treated , but are not limited to, are CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Adjustment Disorder, Bipolar, and Personality Disorders.

My Background and Approach

I completed my Master's in Social Work in 2014. I have been practicing clinical social work for the past 6 years. I've had the privilege to work in various settings such as private practice, community, hospital, crisis, and intensive outpatient; and populations such as, but not limited to, battered women and men, veterans, homeless individuals and families, at-risk teens and their parents, hospice and bereavement, LGBTQ+, and psychotic. My approach to practice is to use a collaborative method for treatment , that allows the client to be involved in goal setting the process. I work from an eclectic and client centered perspective. I provide clients with tools designed for their specific needs. I use a holistic and evidence-based approach that allows for connecting the mind, body, and soul.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

What inspired me about the field of social work? Easy answer- the people that supported me during my childhood. The saying that it takes a village to raise a child is true. I know first hand that people live and operate out of own personal experiences. For example, the ability for someone to thrive is closely linked to the quantity and quality of support one has in their life. I was fortunate to be surrounded by non-blood relatives that were in my life when I needed them the most. As a result, it caused me to want that for others as well. Hence, I became interested in social work- to help those that may not have the supports in their lives that I had. Being supported, heard, and challenged to do your best is something from which everyone can benefit. For me, being a clinical social worker and private practice business owner creates greater helping opportunities. It gives me a platform to support and explore positive change for individuals, communities and broader society.
