About My Clients
I use a holistic approach to help clients find the flow of healing that is at the pace that meets their needs. Whether is it trauma-related concerns or acute stressors that only require short treatment. The clients that I work with best are those who have a desire to work towards healing and change. As long as a client is willing to try and is open to strengthening their resilience, then I would like to offer my help as a part of the client's journey.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions or just trying to understand how to live life as their whole self. I am an eclectic therapist which means that I like to blend and use a variety of different therapy techniques to address the diverse needs of my clients. Some therapeutic modalities that I often use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, mindfulness, Somatic Therapy and EMDR. I also integrate art and narrative therapy for those who prefer expressing themselves creatively. I adapt these approaches to meet your goals, considering your life experiences, culture, and identity. I also take a client-centered approach where I tailor our sessions to focus on what you need help with. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to just be yourself. Together, we will address your concerns and adapt to the evolution of your journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a psychotherapist because I grew up witnessing how mental health is often dismissed in diverse ethnic communities. I saw how generational trauma affects our minds, bodies, and souls. These experiences fueled my passion to become a therapist who can connect and support individuals with diverse backgrounds. As an Asian American (Hmong), I have lived experience of trying to navigate between different cultures, generational trauma, and taboo topics of mental health. My own experiences are some reasons behind my passion for working with the our BIPOC community. My faith is also what grounds me and provides me strength. Therefore, I believe that spirituality is also important component of health.
