Grief can very complex. There may be things we want to never remember and others we hope to never forget. I am a compassionate, person-centered therapist who can come alongside you in your timing, as you are ready. I also recognize that there can be aspects of grief that those in our family or circle of friends do not validate, or are unable to value as we do. Our first session will be a free, fifteen minute consultation where you can safely learn whether you can trust me with your sorrow.

I am an older, understanding counselor who recognizes that your difficulties may be unique to your experience and personality. Who are you really? Who do you hope to be, and how will the best you react to unfair wrong, isolation, or disregard? As a therapist, I welcome all aspects of who you are into sessions: past, present and future; body, reason, emotion, faith, health, relationships, family. Healing begins with safety and trust. I am on older counselor who, across my life/careers, has worked with hundreds experiencing the effects of multiple traumas building upon each other. Damage can impact all aspects of our well-being: physical health, emotional health, relationship health, spiritual health, as well as our thoughts and intuitions. I can value the ways in which your pain is unique to you. Our first visit is a safe, short time for you to learn if we might be a good fit.

Person-centered counseling is sometimes also called non-directive counseling, and this approach is the core of how I work. You know you best. And it sure is nice when we have somebody who comes alongside respectfully. When we share our pain and struggles, we wish for a clear, honest reflection of what we are doing or saying, and my strength in helping you will be authenticity in my compassion. I am both built and experienced to listen, hear, value, and appreciate your identity and your actions.

My work melds approaches from multiple counseling theories in a way that varies depending on your needs - and authentic empathy with a respectful non-directive therapeutic alliance is most often the base —> trauma informed, grief informed, and formative.
