About My Clients
I often work with people who feel like something isn’t quite working, even if they can’t fully explain why. A teen may be struggling with school, friendships, family tension, or feeling misunderstood. A young adult may feel stuck between expectations and figuring out what actually fits. Couples may care deeply about each other but keep falling into the same painful patterns. Therapy can help make sense of what is happening and create room for something different.
My Background and Approach
My background includes private practice and school-based counseling in San Francisco across both elementary and high school settings. That experience gave me a close understanding of how emotional concerns are shaped by relationships, family systems, school environments, identity, and major transitions. My approach is relational, attachment-based, and collaborative. I’m interested in the patterns underneath what is happening, not just the symptom in front of us. In sessions, I balance deeper exploration with practical support around communication, emotional regulation, boundaries, and navigating difficult conversations. I aim to be warm and engaged rather than overly clinical or distant, and I tailor the work to the person, couple, or family in front of me. I also bring an emotionally focused lens to couples work and parent consultation, helping people understand recurring cycles and respond to one another in more connected ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make the most meaningful changes when they feel understood rather than judged, and when therapy makes room for both honesty and curiosity. I don’t see clients as problems to be fixed. I’m interested in how patterns developed, what purpose they may have served, and whether they still fit the life or relationships someone wants now. I also believe relationships matter deeply. The way we understand ourselves is shaped by family, culture, attachment, community, and the environments we move through. Therapy can offer a place to notice those influences more clearly, make sense of what feels stuck, and practice responding in ways that feel more intentional and authentic. I value warmth, collaboration, humor when it fits, and a therapy space where you do not have to perform or say the “right” thing.
