About My Clients
I especially enjoy working with folks who are looking to deepen their relationship with themselves, their communities, and their own bodies. I view my clients as the expert of their own lives, and I hope to help you find the joy, strength, and wisdom that is already inside of you; it may just need some support in being accessed.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) and Ecotherapy, as ways to help clients deepen their connection to self, which can help foster a safer and stronger connection to the people, places, and experiences in their lives. Trauma-informed care is a pillar of my therapeutic approach, and I strive to connect with clients through the lens of their past and present experiences. I believe that working towards nervous system regulation, particularly through body-aware and nature practices, can provide clients with a sense of safety and belonging. I also believe that a large part of regulation is the space to feel your emotions as deeply as needed, not just trying to calm down. Modern day society does not give us many spaces to truly feel and move our bodies and emotions, and that's what I like to do in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in an active approach to social justice through personal and communal work related to antiracism, anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism, and supporting LGBTQIA+ folks, immigrants and refugees, women, BIPOC folks, neurodivergent folks, and all people living in a patriarchal and oppressive society. I believe in rage and anger, and I believe in joy and whimsy.
