About My Clients
My clients are individuals seeking a different mindset to achieve their best and reach self-actualization, becoming considerate individuals who have healthy boundaries while supporting themselves, their families, and their communities.
My Background and Approach
I am Olivia Rios, a Licensed Social Worker with extensive professional experience serving individuals and couples. Born and raised in the Bronx, I bring a nuanced understanding of cultural context and lived experience to my clinical work. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and I have spent the past two decades providing therapeutic services across diverse settings. My areas of clinical focus include relationship concerns, young adult development, anxiety and depressive disorders, mindfulness-based coping strategies, and the enhancement of reflective functioning. I provide individual psychotherapy and couples counseling for young adults and adults, utilizing integrative and evidence-based modalities. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and other strengths-based approaches designed to support insight, emotional regulation, and meaningful behavioral change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is grounded in the belief that therapy is a collaborative process that facilitates growth, resilience, and improved functioning. Through an empathic, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic stance, I assist clients in developing adaptive skills, identifying personal strengths, and reauthoring narratives that may be limiting their progress. Together, we work toward increased self-awareness, self-efficacy, and the capacity to create new and aligned life experiences
