About My Clients
So many people just don't know where to start when it comes to managing their mental health symptoms. One of my favorite qualities of therapy is giving someone the opportunity to explore all factors that play a role in your life, and understanding where and how to start managing these difficulties. We don't need to go through life alone, and I hope I can assist you in understanding how your problems, which are unique to you and your life, can improve with creative outlets and a listening ear.
My Background and Approach
It's important to explore many different tools and skills which can benefit us. There are times when we feel lost, confused, and like nothing works. Over the course of my career, I've discovered that no two people find the same solution-- this allows me to think creatively and out-of-the-box, so we can create an adaptive environment for you personally, rather than within the confines of one particular modality or approach. One aspect of therapy with me that you will quickly learn is that I don't use the word "should" and will encourage you to do the same. I hope to one day live in a world where we do things because they are aligned with our values, not because we have the feeling that we "should" be doing it! My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the capacity for growth. I believe that through talking, art making, and expressing our emotions, we can understand the things we need in our life in order to grow. Growth may not be comfortable or quick, especially when we have ingrained patterns of maladaptive behavior-- but this doesn't mean growth or change is not possible, it just means we need to think creatively about breaking these barriers, challenges, and patterns. I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ community, an ally to the BLM community, and have been to several protests in the hope of inspiring national change for the causes which resonate with me, especially intersectional-feminist causes. I am, unfortunately, a Cleveland Browns fan, but will not judge if someone prefers a different sports-ball team.
