My Background and Approach
My therapeutic style is warm and compassionate with an empathic, person-centered focus. I use an eclectic approach which draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and attachment theories. Together, we will find evidence-based tools unique to you that you can use when coping with life's difficulties and healing from the past. I understand that coming to therapy can feel intimidating and vulnerable. So I strive to create a space that feels safe, accepting and collaborative where you can freely reflect and explore your feelings and desires.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Creating change is possible, though it can be difficult. In therapy I've found that oftentimes how we interact with the world can be a direct result of behavior that we've learned through others' modeling them. Our experiences shape how we continue to interact with and perceive the world. I believe that therapy can allow us to reprogram the behaviors and thoughts that are keeping us stuck in harmful cycles.
