About My Clients
I work primarily with adolescent and adult individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, neurodivergence, relational conflict, the effects of marginalization on identity formation, or the unbearably heavy weight of the human experience, I would be honored to hear your story and help you bring some cohesion to the chaos.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy through a collaborative and personalized lens, tailoring sessions to best suit your needs and working towards goals that are most meaningful to you. I employ a range of techniques, integrating several therapeutic fields (ACT, existential, humanistic, and more) to help us work towards one central truth: your story is worth telling and your voice has every right to be heard. Throughout the process of unraveling your personal narrative, I intend to create an environment where you feel empowered to speak your mind, make mistakes, and know yourself better without fear of judgement. In any given session you can count on me to be authentic, interested in your life, humorous (when appropriate), and ready to explore even the emotions and thoughts that you aren’t always proud of. Together, I hope we can help you chart a path between a complicated past, a difficult present, and a more fulfilling future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As somebody who has spent most of his life in close proximity to interpersonal conflict and human suffering, I am no stranger to the fact that this world can be unforgiving and unkind to those who feel in any way different (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, the list goes on). As such, I approach each person with the knowledge that: A) Even on a good day, being a human is hard, and B) Our experience is made even harder when we feel unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. I do not shy away from these truths, and wish to see, hear, understand, and accept you as you are. To this end, I am dedicated to exploring the beauty and pain that has shaped us into the complex person you are today, as well as figuring out what kind of person you wish to become. I am a staunch supporter of what makes you unique, and believe that the best thing we can do as human beings is find ways to live as the authentic version of ourselves, complicated and challenging as that may be.
