About My Clients
I work to help families and couples feel closer and more connected and to overcome problems such as emotional distance, intimacy issues, and conflict. I enjoy working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and offer affirming and inclusive therapy for LGBTQ adults, couples and families.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is influenced by my enthusiasm for classical psychodynamic theory that was the foundation of my two year training at the esteemed Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills. This was enhanced with a certification from the Los Angeles Institute and Association for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS), and a foundation course at The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis (ICP). I strive to constantly enhance my approach using contemporary influences, from Mentalization Based Training and from the extensive cultural sensitivity work at Antioch University, where I was in the LGBT Specialization. I continue training in Modern Group Analytic theory at the Center for Group Studies in New York. As a family therapist, I focus on communication in family counseling, as it pertains to understanding the family dynamics, conflict and connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that it is my responsibility to make each client, whether an individual or family, to feel understood from the first meeting. I use my extensive training in psychoanalytic, and family therapy to create a safe, non-judgmental environment and aim to generate an extraordinary connection that supports you and your family to improve your well-being I was the recipient of the Donald T. Brown Memorial Award for Group Psychotherapy, and studied Psychoanalytic Therapy at LAISPS. Providing therapy for 12-18 year olds in both clinical and school-based settings has given me unique skill set for working with teenagers and their families.
