About My Clients

I trust and center the experiences of clients of all genders, races, indigenous identities, sexual identities, religions, physical support needs, body sizes, relationship styles, sexual preferences and kink communities. I am passionate about providing safe spaces to queer, trans and gender noncomforming people of color, people of size, people with chronic illness and people who have experienced trauma. I seek to help clients navigate anxiety, depression and identity at their own pace.

My Background and Approach

I provide grounding, compassionate therapy to meet you where you are and walk with you as you change, grow and heal. My affirming approach involves exploring relationships with oneself and others to learn how to live a more fulfilling and self-aware life. We co-create a space for your intuition and resiliency to help guide you through challenging times. I use EMDR, somatic experiencing techniques, mindfulness, parts work, inner child work and attachment theory to guide my practice. I facilitate the processing and investigation of distressing feelings, what the body needs in the moment, and how our pasts shape our current needs, so that you can experience a fulfilling life. I specialize in areas related to familial and intimate partner conflict, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, chronic illness, post-traumatic stress, childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence, interpersonal violence, stalking and sexual exploitation trauma. I align my work with Health at Every Size principles.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many people try to shift around emotional pain, squeeze into old definitions of normalcy and hope things will go back to the way they once were. We’re told that grief only happens under certain circumstances, and yet, major transitions–from leaving home to returning once again, graduations, starting new jobs, developing new health conditions, beginning and ending relationships–can pull the rug out from under us. We’re also grieving how life used to be in addition to feelings of isolation since the pandemic began. Grief and pain have several different sources. Therapy is an opportunity to discover what hurts, why and how to honour our experiences while living more rewarding lives in an oppressive society. As a queer person of colour living with chronic illness, I've felt how difficult it can be to separate how worthy you are of love and kindness from how you are treated. I believe every body deserves to heal and no body is broken.
