About My Clients
The process of therapy involves self-exploration, understanding your patterns, and how they impact your life and the lives of those around you. This requires a commitment in time and resources, a willingness to learn more about yourself, as well a desire to heal. My preference is working with individuals who are ready to make changes in their lives.
My Background and Approach
As an immigrant, a woman, and a person of color, I am sensitive to how race, culture, and ethnicity colors our experiences. I think my background has made it easy for me to embrace others while also bringing awareness of the impact of inequality and power differential in our society. I am curious about my clients’ experiences and I am careful to check my own biases. I am a LGBTQ+ ally. I use an integrative approach that combines Family system theory, mindfulness techniques, trauma-informed therapy, CBT and DBT and other evidence based therapy tools I welcome the opportunity to support you in your healing journey. In addition to providing individual therapy, I have expanded my practice to include Mental Health Immigration Evaluations in the following states: New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. I am familiar with Asylum Cases, Extreme Hardship Cases and VAWA Cases.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief is that most of us have an innate desire to heal and lead productive lives. A therapist can act as a guide as well as a catalyst for change. I provide support in navigating difficult relationships, managing stress, healing past traumas, developing greater self-awareness, and learning and utilizing effective coping skills.
