About My Clients
Many of my clients are queer, trans, autistic, ADHD, or some combination thereof. They may be navigating trauma, burnout, relationships, identity, or the strain of living in environments that don't make enough room for them. Some understand themselves remarkably well and still find that understanding hasn't changed how things feel. Others are still finding language for their experience. Wherever you're starting from, we can begin there.
My Background and Approach
My approach is relational, somatic, systems-oriented, and attachment-informed. We'll explore what you think about your experience, how it lives in your body and relationships, and how it's been shaped by the families, communities, cultures, and larger systems you've lived within. I don't see therapy as identifying what's wrong with you and correcting it. The things we call symptoms, defenses, or coping strategies often developed for good reasons. We can get curious about what they're doing, what they've protected, and what they cost you now. Making more room for your experience can give you greater access to yourself: what you feel, what you need, and how you want to respond. Our work may include conversation, attention to your body and nervous system, mindfulness and experiential exploration, or working together outdoors. I draw from many forms of therapy without expecting your experience to fit any particular model.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm queer, trans, and neurodivergent, and my politics are rooted in liberation rather than mere tolerance. I value queer and trans liberation, disability justice and neurodiversity, racial justice, bodily autonomy, and solidarity with Indigenous sovereignty and land return. Solidarity means resisting the temptation to imagine anyone's suffering—or freedom—as purely individual. Our lives are shaped by relationships, institutions, cultures, and material conditions, and so is our healing. As the Aboriginal Activists’ Group, Queensland, 1970s put it: “your liberation is bound up with mine.” I practice in Oakland on Lisjan Ohlone land and support the rematriation work of Sogorea Te' Land Trust.
