Anyone can develop PTSD at any age. This includes combat veterans and people who have experienced or witnessed a physical or sexual assault, abuse, an accident, a disaster, other serious events. Therapy serves to help people identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

My first hand experience has enabled me to understand the deep complexities of depression and its treatment. My personal journey living with depression made me want to help others and through education and training I have acquired a solid foundation in understanding the theoretical underpinnings of depression and the various successful treatments.

Couples’ therapy is a place to work on the variety of issues that may arise within the relationship, from general dissatisfaction to parenting differences to discussions of divorce or separation. The aim in couples’ therapy is to help improve communication and listening skills. It’s focus is on helping couples validate one another, even if not always in agreement, leading to the use of healthier strategies to solving conflict.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized therapy designed to help your brain process and heal from traumatic memories and distressing experiences. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories, allowing you to integrate these experiences in a healthier way.

CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps you identify negative thought patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic thinking. Rather than dwelling on the past, CBT emphasizes developing coping skills and strategies you can use right now to manage challenges and create positive change in your daily life.

Psychodynamic therapy explores how your past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns influence your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach helps you gain deeper insight into recurring themes in your life, understand relationship patterns, and uncover the underlying emotional roots of current challenges. By bringing these unconscious dynamics into awareness, you can make more conscious choices and create lasting change.
