About My Clients

Are you ready to be in a space where being vulnerable feels like a relief? Does the deep, dark, sad in you need more room to be explored? Are you longing to be validated, supported, cared for in a way that follows your lead & helps you gain a sense of control? Does every day life feel so heavy that you question how much longer you can carry it all? I strive to meet clients where they're at, support their in-the-moment needs & "show up" with & for them; not just physically -- emotionally as well.

My Background and Approach

I have a Bachelor of Science in Art Therapy from University of Wisconsin - Superior & Master of Arts in Art Therapy & Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. I currently working towards my professional licence, under the supervision of Angela (Pitton) Abdo, LPCC. I have a background in social services, working with adults with disabilities in day programs & a crisis residence for adults with severe & persistent mental illness. I have worked with teenagers, as a mental health practitioner at a high school & have experience with individual & group counseling over the last several years of my career. I am a person-centered practitioner; I believe in every clients capacity & desire for growth, that art and/or talk therapy can shed light on problems or issues that we encounter in our lives, & my ability to see my clients for their true potential. I believe that by allowing the light to share the floor with the dark, therapy & healing can progress forward. Slow is fast.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as queer, gender-fluid & non-binary. It is very important to me to be a mental health resource to the LGBTQ+ community. I am constantly learning about my own privilege as white person, as a cis-passing person & as a person with access to healthcare. I strive to be aware of what is going on in the world, show up when I can & support in other ways when I cannot. I support the dismantling of patriarchy, I support abandoning the systems that work against the people & I support the fighting of blatant racism, homophobia, xenophobia, & general prejudice practices that are running rapid in our country today. I am currently working towards breaking the trauma patterns & ancestral narratives, passed down through my family that no longer encourage growth or perpetuate hate. Consent is mandatory & it's definition has made it's way into my daily life; if the answer is not an "enthusiastic yes", I often consider that valuable data.
