About My Clients
Often people are misunderstood and their voice has been unheard. Whether professional or personal in nature it is experienced. Over time this can lead to crisis, stand still, depression or other changes. We all deal with life and what comes our way. Sometimes we just need a change, however slight, to continue on. I am far from perfect but I love people from all walks of life and to help them continue their life journey. Bearing in mind the many barriers faced I strive to remove what I can.
My Background and Approach
I have always loved new things and my careers is no different. I started out in community mental health primarily working with adults. I found an opportunity to learn affordable housing as a case manager before venturing into my own business. This is where I have been helping people transition from hospitals or nursing facilities for the last 10+ years. This has included mental health support & general 1:1 support in the entire process. My experiences have continued my learning in life and understanding. I strive to take out barriers to achieving goals no matter how small they are. From meeting you where you are at to finding a park-perhaps a walk is what is needed. Voicing yourself and setting goals where you are most comfortable. The core of my approach is a blend of person centered, reality, cognitive behavioral therapy among others. Regardless my goal is to listen, be present, elicit your needs and help formulate a path to meet them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in people and truly believe that most issues stem from miscommunication. I believe family is first and laughter can not be overrated. I believe that doing something each day, no matter how small it is, is imperative. Being in nature helps us heal and find ourselves and we need natural sunlight daily. I believe that we can get swept up in the media and lose sight of truth becoming brainwashed and numbed to reality. This can cripple us and we can become lost. I believe people are afraid and out of that fear isolate. We each have our truths and this may change at times in our lives. Our past shapes who we are it is up to us to decide what goes or stays. I believe in and love my two Pitbulls. I have a deep respect and understanding of their history. Due to their past we must respect and understand ~ much like a person we must respect one another and believe in one another. Your experiences in life are your truth as are mine. Sometimes they need challenging and learning.
