About My Clients
Whether you're struggling with anxiety and depression, challenges with food and body image, or your relationship, sex, and sexuality, seeking out help is scary. I know it's not easy to talk about these things, and I want to help to provide a safe space as you explore these issues in your life and learn how to manage the feelings that have sometimes felt overwhelming.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Sex Therapist. I began my career working with individuals with eating disorders, anxiety and depression. From here, my practice evolved to sex therapy, by way of body image struggles, shame, and trauma. Naturally, sex therapy led to work with couples and relationships of other structures. From a trauma informed perspective, I utilize ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and attachment concepts in therapy. It's my goal to help uncover the underlying issues that are creating distress and develop strategies that empower you going forward in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to create a safe space to explore and work through the blocks that people, singularly and in relationship are experiencing. I believe we all have the capacity to create a life that is fulfilling and without shame. I recovered from my own eating disorder decades ago, and what I learned, and didn't learn, from the help that was available back then informs my approach today. It's important to me to create a therapy space where clients know they are unconditionally accepted and respected.
