About My Clients
I specialize in working with adults, particularly men that are managing symptoms of depression and anxiety. I enjoy meeting people where they are at and supporting them to set boundaries, work through their trauma that could be impacting their internal self and relationships. I am here to help you identify the boundaries you are trying to set while supporting you to increase adaptive communication with the people in your life.
My Background and Approach
I have a masters in counseling psychology and have been practicing since 2012. I have been working in behavioral health with youth and adults since 2008. I have experience in crisis management and case management. I have worked at Seattle Children's Hospital in their inpatient psychiatric unit and their emergency department. I have a client centered and existential approach, while offering cognitive behavioral strategies to manage in the moment distress one may experience. I am directive and offer perspectives that one may be having difficulty seeing due to their enmeshment with others that may be reinforcing their co-dependency issues. I have a sense of humor and offer strategies to point out in-the-moment means to cope while experiencing significant anxiety/depressive symptoms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all doing the best we can at any given moment. I believe that our trauma influences who we are and can block our individual self-awareness. The toxicity in our lives can reinforce false narratives creating a perception that there is something innately wrong with "us". I hope to help you build your healthy relationships and make the necessary decisions for you to move forward to achieve your goals. I further want to support you to recognize that you can learn to understand that what may seem like a blackhole of darkness will pass while bringing you to a more positive place. I have background working with children and families that are experiencing acute mental health crises. I support a variety of non-profits in Seattle. I enjoy building bringing people together and creating a sense community. Connection to the people around us in difficult times can reduce anxieties and lift us up.
