About My Clients
The echoes of trauma ripple across our lives, from the person-at-the-center, reaching out to our culture at large. While many of us carry the scars of our own distinct traumatic experiences, we also often are subsumed by the savagery of our sick and violent culture. Trauma can mask in my ways: as ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, and much more. I aim to treat people who are ready to shed this yoke, to take the power back, and reclaim their lives.
My Background and Approach
Therapy doesn't happen in a vacuum. When you leave the therapy office, your wellness must follow. I take an experiential approach to treatment while focusing on your strengths and working to understand you within the context of the larger environment: we are all people living within a series of larger systems - work, friendships, family, social connections, culture and society at large all effect how we feel, what we think, and how we act. I believe (and the research supports this) that the relationship is the most important factor in therapy. In my view, this relationship is built on mutual honesty, trust, respect and compassion for the reality that we are all flawed human beings. While I am trained in traditional approaches to psychotherapy, including CBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, systems, and psychodynamic modalities, true healing is rooted in this shared relationship. Whole healing must address the mind, body and the culture in which we live.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Hi! I'm Noah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist. I work with a broad range of clients, and offer individual adult, adolescent and pediatric therapy; couples therapy and family therapy. My clients come to me with a range of needs and goals, but broadly I work with clients to foster healthy relationships, promote mental wellbeing and grit, and develop an overall sense of body-mind wellness. I specialize in the treatment of PTSD and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, complex grief, ADHD, and substance abuse. Treating trauma and working with survivors of trauma is my passion. I have extensive post-graduate training in the treatment of PTSD and complex trauma, including EMDRIA certified EMDR training, TF-CBT, and exposure therapy. I am comfortable treating clients with a range of trauma histories. I am currently accepting new clients. I always look forward to hearing from potential clients. Please reach out with any questions.
