No specific therapeutic approach is perfect for every client. However, I use a client centered approach in all cases wherein I follow where the client leads. When considering and deciding upon entering counseling one could assume a client is seeking a solution to an experience encountered. SFBT is a therapeutic approach designed to be brief yet decisive in the solution based outcome.
The approach used in couples counseling is a multifaceted approach. Family system, structural-strategic theory, and other approaches are used for the purpose of coming alongside my clients and supporting them on their journey to wholeness within their relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a common therapeutic approach focused on human cognitions and behaviors in response to those cognitions. I use this approach in conjunction with other modalities for the purpose of supporting individuals, couples, and families with cognitive reframing, thought tracking, and understanding the link within ones thoughts, beliefs, response, and consequences.
