About My Clients
I specialize in treating individuals with addiction, those who have sustained trauma, whether complex or single incident, family dysfunction, mood disorders, and major life changes-including illness and loss. I am also well versed in working with people of different cultures, the immigrant experience, and how that may impact my clients and shape identities. I am very solution oriented, and believe that honesty and transparency are the best way to build trust with clients.
My Background and Approach
I am an EMDR therapist, who is direct, solution focused, and very invested in my clients success. Often times people feel like talk therapy hasn't worked for them in the past-I use evidence based techniques in working with my clients. For the past 10 years I have been working with trauma, addiction, and life transitions. We will come up with a treatment direction and plan, see what experiences you have had are negatively impacting your future, and work to dismantle some of the negative beliefs you have been carrying. For example: do you feel worthless sometimes even though you know you are not? We can change this. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s Degree in Social Work with emphasis on addiction and trauma treatment. My undergraduate degree was obtained from New York University in Social Work and Psychology with a focus on neuroscience and addiction. I speak English, Russian, and Spanish.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that in exploring our internal landscapes, and learning about past experiences that have shaped us and continue to show up for us we can regain power and control over our future. If you are feeling stagnant and stuck, unfulfilled and isolated, and know that you are not operating at your best, you KNOW how important it is to make a change. I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and feel fulfilled no matter the circumstances. As a first generation immigrant, a mother, and someone with a profound appreciation for sobriety, I know how difficult life can get. I also know that life presents us with opportunities for change and growth beyond what we think possible. I value honesty, straightforwardness.
