I help clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives. With this understanding, clients begin to accept their hardships and commit to making changes in their behavior, regardless of what is going on in their lives and how they feel about it.

Any time change occurs, there is potential for feelings of grief and trauma to occur as well. Grief and depression counseling can be helpful when dealing with all kinds of loss: a person, pet, physical ability, job, role, anticipated outcome, and more. These losses, whether anticipated or not, require an abundance of self-care, compassion, and self-awareness to navigate. I help those healing from loss and life changes move through the grieving process with acceptance and healing.

I help clients to acknowledge and accept their emotions, including negative thoughts and feelings about themselves. I can help switch your mindset from judgmental to observational, you create room for curiosity, authenticity, and courage. Just because you experience negative emotions doesn’t mean they need to prevent you from aligning your behaviors with your values and goals.

I can help you understand that your thoughts are not the absolute truth and teach you skills for tolerating anxiety without judging yourself and ultimately take action based on your values rather than based on fears.
