About My Clients
Many people seek therapy during seasons of grief, relationship strain, painful faith experiences, or major life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or at a crossroads. Some clients are grieving a loss, questioning beliefs they once held with certainty, or navigating significant change. Others come as couples when conflict, distance, or misunderstanding takes a toll. I offer a safe space to slow down, understand what’s beneath the surface, and move toward clarity and connection.
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed professional counselor with many years of experience working with adults and couples navigating difficult seasons of life and relationship struggles. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years in evangelical church leadership. Having since gone through my own process of faith deconstruction, I bring a deep understanding of evangelical and church culture while offering a counseling space not tied to any religious agenda or belief system. In individual therapy, we’ll explore emotional patterns, grief, identity shifts, and the impact of past experiences while strengthening self-trust and resilience. In couples therapy, we’ll slow reactive patterns that leave partners stuck in the same conflicts and help each person feel heard and understood so connection can begin to rebuild. My work is warm and collaborative, drawing from parts-oriented thinking, somatic awareness, mindfulness, experiential work, and other integrative approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that meaningful change happens when people are met with curiosity, kindness, and compassion. Many of the struggles people carry begin as ways of coping with difficult experiences or environments. When we slow down and explore those experiences with care, understanding and possibilities can begin to emerge. I’m also committed to doing my own inner work. I continue in personal therapy and believe strongly that therapists shouldn’t ask clients to go places they haven’t been willing to explore themselves. Creating an inclusive space matters deeply to me. I welcome people of all identities and relationship structures, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community—especially those who have experienced harm in religious environments. My allyship is both professional and personal, as my first-born is non-binary. Outside the therapy room, I’m a die-hard Chargers fan, do NYT crossword every morning without fail, and am happiest anywhere near the ocean.
