I have extensive experience in working with adults with anxiety, supported by ongoing continuing education in anxiety management, mindfulness based approaches, and stress management techniques. My approach integrates evidence-based practices to help clients understand and manage their anxiety effectively. I focus on teaching practical skills and strategies to promote overall well-being.

EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories in such a way that normal information processing is resumed. Therapists often use EMDR to help clients uncover and process negative core beliefs that developed as the result of relational traumas, childhood abuse or neglect, or difficult events they have experienced. EMDR focuses on the brain’s ability to constantly learn, taking past experiences, and updating them with present Information.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, or MBCT, is designed for people who suffer repeated bouts of anxiety, chronic stress, or unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. Recent research has shown that people who engage in mindfulness practices on a regular basis have a change in brain process (based on MRI results) in as little as 6 weeks.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talking therapy. It is a common treatment for a range of mental health problems and life stressors. CBT teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings, behaviors, and actions.

I have extensive experience and training in assisting individuals through the grieving process. I provide compassionate support and guidance during difficult times. My approach involves helping clients understand and navigate the various stages of grief, offering personalized strategies to cope with loss. Through my own experience in grief I have tremendous empathy for this process and foster healing and resilience, ensuring each person feels heard and supported throughout their journey.

I have specialized training in trauma therapy, with a focus on using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. My approach involves creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals can work through their trauma at their own pace. By utilizing EMDR, I assist clients in reducing the emotional distress associated with traumatic memories, fostering recovery and resilience.
