About My Clients
This isn't something that you can just “pray your way out of” any longer. You want a non judgemental space where you can explore emotions and struggles while incorporating your spirituality and values. You want to delve into exploring your faith, but there are contradictory or troubling aspects that you can’t seem to shake. You’re ready to let go of your parents' religion and figure out what relationship with God means for you. I can't wait to walk with you in this space of healing.
My Background and Approach
CBT is designed to support women who have experienced challenging or stressful life events. Together we will create a safe and nurturing environment to talk through experiences in your past. Through this modality you will explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and reactions. As you examine thinking patterns, you will have an opportunity to challenge how these experiences have defined you, learn practical ways to manage the emotional fluctuations, and gain tools to help you take control back over your life. In addition, I offer the use of DBT and EMDR Therapy to those who best fit these modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy with me is like going on a road trip, and we all know those bags are packed full! Together we will map out the destination of your goals. We’ll talk about the baggage from your past that binds you and build up your coping skills and emotional regulation tools needed to succeed on this journey. You’re in the driver's seat, but rest assured, I’ll be your personal GPS (Guiding the Processing Support). You determine the pace we go, and where we pause to rest as you learn to listen to your body and sense into your emotions on a deeper level. You get to decide the routes explored, as well as the parts of your past that you’d like to sidestep. You’ll never be pressured to work on areas you’re not ready to.
