About My Clients
While my clients do not fit any particular mold, I often work with millennials and younger adults, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people in non-traditional or creative careers. We might focus on your self-image, your relationships with others, or behavioral patterns you're hoping to change. Sometimes clients aren't sure where to begin, and that's okay, too. Together, we can "play detective" to help you better understand yourself and move toward greater self-actualization.
My Background and Approach
My style is active and collaborative, and I often bring gentle humor into the therapy space. In my approach, I prioritize working from a place of authenticity and collaboration. I know that my clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to help facilitate an already-ongoing process of self-exploration, insight-building, and growth. I have completed post-graduate training in multiple modalities (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), which allows me to adapt our work to what you find most helpful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My core values are deeply intertwined in my approach. I believe in treating ourselves (and others) with generosity and compassion and in the potential for human growth and change. I believe that cultural, social, and structural forces have a tremendous impact on our mental health, and I welcome bringing those conversations into the therapeutic space. I also believe deeply in the importance of equitable access to quality mental health care, and I welcome clients who are new, or wary of, therapy.
