As the product of an evangelical youth kid in the early 2000s I have lived experience relating to healing from religious trauma, purity culture, the sadness that comes from doubt and loss and the understanding of reshaping and rebuilding a belief system. Additionally, I have a special interest in parents who are deconstructing and women recovering from purity culture.
My Background and Approach
My journey as a clinical social worker includes professional expertise and personal understanding. Specializing in anxiety, depression, and life transitions, I integrate evidence-based modalities for practical solutions. This is a judgment-free zone with a compassionate listener who will give you unconditional positive regard and affirmation. Having navigated my own de-conversion and religious trauma, I bring a unique empathy to those experiencing similar journeys. My practice is a safe space for individuals leaving faith, providing compassionate support and understanding. I've cultivated a specialized focus on religious trauma and spiritual abuse, recognizing the profound impact on mental health. I also have a special interest in treating folx who struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions as well as the journey of parenthood/motherhood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Religious trauma is trauma. It can feel like an earthquake in your soul to suddenly lose a belief system. This space is created to ask all of the questions and doubts that you weren't allowed to vocalize in church. Through my own journey, I have learned that its never too late to shift your beliefs and perspective and to view yourself through the lens of love, wholeness, and goodness. You are not born wicked, evil, bad, a sinner. Lets begin the healing journey to self-discovery and finding out who you really want to become.
