About My Clients

It can all feel like too much to handle, especially when we're particularly tough on ourselves when mistakes or things don't go according to plan. My Background and Approach
Nicole is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist/ Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, supervised by Shannon Forbes, LMFT. Nicole often combines mindfulness with psychodynamic theory to provide holistic, collaborative treatment in order to fit the unique needs, values, skillsets, & backgrounds of the person in front of her at the time. She has training in high sensitivity, a trait studied extensively by Dr. Elaine Aron, and trauma work, with a certification in Trauma-Focused-CBT. She aims to help people find deeper freedom from harsh negative self-talk and help cultivate deeper, authentic relationships within yourself and with others in your life. Nicole believes in the power of feeling known and seen for who you are, and of living as genuinely as possible (even if it’s not necessarily always pretty or put-together).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I highly value creating a space that is non-judgmental, where authenticity and transparency are prevalent. I believe in the importance and necessity for trauma-informed care and cultural competency, including continuing to learn and acknowledge all the ways things like intersectionality and systemic inequality play a role in compounding upon someone's lived experience. I highly value working with you from a place that honors your background, worldview, religious and spiritual beliefs, culture and perspective. I also acknowledge this is a life-long journey and commitment towards greater cultural competency and am motivated to continue learning as I go.
