My Background and Approach
I take what is often called an eclectic depth approach, based in psychodynamic therapy. What this essentially means is I'm not necessarily about a quick fix, but I am about quick results that add up session after session to meaningful and lasting deep change. Typically, I look for patterns in how you are conceptualizing your experience, and help you identify where you might be getting caught in self-judgment, or self-defeating viewpoints; then we strive to link those to your upbringing so that you become a savvy detective in identifying your own defeating thinking. I create space for emotions to be informative friends, and teach you how to use them as important allies. I help you parse through complicated relationship and workplace dynamics and claim your self-worth. We practice boundaries, communication of difficult messages, and practical wisdom to overcome insecurities and concerns. We dig deep while keeping things light, sometimes funny, and very human.

My goal is to get to the heart of who you are and what matters to you, and to help that live more freely in the world, while paying respect and reverence to the universal cultural challenges we face as modern humans, as well as those that are specific to your experience.
