More than 50 million Americans suffer from depression—it is more common than most realize. If you suffer from depression or a depressive mood, you are definitely not alone.

As women, we often take on the caretaker role of those around us. Whether it is expected of us or just in our nature, we many times end up taking care of those in our life. However, it sometimes can all become too much, even with the best of intentions. We need to learn how to take care of ourselves, before we can take care of others.

If these past two years have taught has us anything, it was that we often take on way too much and taking time to slow down and enjoy your lives should be a top priority. Utilizing self-case is extremely important and maintained on a consistent basis.

Being biracial, as well as being in an interracial marriage, I understand that there are many ways to do things and not everyone has the same view on things. Accepting our culturally sensitive world view is extremely important has can explain so much in regards to how we do things, how we relate to others, and how we see ourselves.
