About My Clients

Everyone sees you as someone who “has it all figured out,” but inside you’re barely holding it together. You’re tired of changing your personality for every setting, trying to be the best “you” in any situation. Sometimes you feel so smart and capable but other times you feel like you’re falling behind, and you might wonder if you even deserve to feel better. You want to get a handle on your life and actually start living it, instead of just surviving it.

My Background and Approach

You won’t have to filter yourself or “slow it down.” I can keep up. Therapy should feel like I’m adjusting to you, not the other way around. I primarily use a combination of modalities (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential Therapy) to help clients simultaneously change their habits or thinking for immediate relief while also addressing the underlying issues and beliefs that originally built their distress. While therapy can't cure you overnight, it definitely shouldn't feel like something you're pouring hours into without seeing a single benefit. I'm not here to judge, I'm here to understand who you are and where you're coming from so we can build you up to where you want to be, together! I often use humor and metaphors to make our work easier and more fun to process.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We hide parts of ourselves all the time. We might be scared they'll be rejected, or we already know they're not welcome, or maybe we think they're just ugly. We're all living some version of ourselves. I want to help people make the version they're living the most honest, authentic, and fulfilling version possible. Projecting this "edited" version of ourselves can often lead to or exacerbate mental health issues like anxiety and depression. It can create a persistent feeling that "something is missing," even when we appear to have everything. Living this "edited" version of self is often the case for certain groups of people: teens and young adults, queer and trans people, perfectionists, and people with nonconforming lifestyles or careers.
