My Background and Approach
Therapy should feel collaborative, safe, and empowering. I bring in a variety of evidenced-based therapy frameworks personalized to your needs, along with compassion and humor into sessions. We’ll sort through what feels hard, learn healthy ways to cope with emotions, and rewrite unhelpful patterns to develop healthier relationships with others and yourself. I completed my Masters Degree (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rhode Island College. I have gained experience for over decade providing mental health services to adults, young adults, teens, and children in private practice and home-based therapy settings. My approach is to bring what I have learned in through my professional experiences and extensive training to provide the best quality of therapy that I can to my clients. My approach is trauma-informed, and often pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. People often unhealthy learned behaviors that once served us, and likely protected us, at one point in our lives. Once we realize that those patterns are no longer good for us, it can be hard to figure out by ourselves how to change them. But the good thing is, that we can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. Therapy is where that can happen. I’m here to really listen to you and be by your side, helping you to cultivate the change that you want in your life.
