About My Clients
I specialize in child, adolescent, and emerging adulthood mental health. Adolescence and emerging adulthood are periods of intense change, and my priority is offering a safe, non-judgmental space where young people can feel heard and truly understood. I have worked young people adjusting to a major change, like family separation, graduating high school, or social challenges.
My Background and Approach
I have 7 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families across various settings, including schools, mental health clinics, and home-based services. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, where I studied clinical and community/macro practice social work. As an NY Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I completed over 3 years of supervised experience in diagnosis, psychotherapy, and assessment-based planning before passing the Association of Social Work Boards' clinical exam. Also, I'm a NY Certified School Social Worker, and I am trained in school violence prevention, child abuse identification, and bullying prevention. My therapeutic style is grounded in strength-based approaches and trauma-informed care. We might explore things using psychodynamic ideas to understand patterns, read and discuss books, music, and poetry through Bibliotherapy, or just have an open, honest talk therapy session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I look at people through a “big picture” lens, recognizing that our experiences are shaped by our relationships, environments, and the systems we’re part of. I believe that it’s important to understand what’s happening around someone just as much as what’s happening within them. I’m also committed to practicing with cultural competency and awareness, approaching each person with openness and respect. I strive to create a space that feels affirming, inclusive, and supportive for everyone—especially LGBTQ+ individuals and those from diverse racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
