About My Clients
I work with adults whose trauma impacts the way they view themselves and the world. My ideal client has difficulty showing up authentically on a daily basis. Some common struggles include: difficulty in relationships, feeling stuck, low self esteem, negative thought patterns, mood swings, addiction, and eating disorders. I also focus on how trauma shows up in the body- it can feel like rigidness, overstimulation, heaviness, and so much more.
My Background and Approach
I am an LPCC and EMDR trained. I have experience working in community mental health settings- from inpatient psychiatric care to substance use rehabilitation centers. In my practice I used holistic and somatic approaches to create a nurturing space for healing. This means we will look at your experiences from a whole person perspective: focusing not just on your thoughts but how trauma shows up in your body and nervous system. I offer EMDR to help you reprocess distressing memories and shift negative beliefs. I also use parts work, which helps us explore the different aspects of yourself that may be in conflict or need healing. This fosters self-compassion and integration. Additionally, I use mindfulness and somatic techniques to regulate your nervous system and promote healing. My approach is down to earth, authentic, and relatable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person deserves to process and heal regardless of ethnicity, income, age, gender, religion, disabilities, or sexual orientation. I believe in honoring clients' autonomy and choices throughout the therapeutic process. I understand the importance of human connection and authenticity-especially in a therapeutic relationship. There is still a stigma surrounding mental health, and suicide prevention is more than posting a crisis hotline number- it is access to food, education, housing, safety, and so much more. I believe anyone can change and the resiliency of humans is astounding. I believe in providing well researched, evidence based care. I am committed to continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally. And lastly, I believe all dogs go to Heaven.
