About My Clients
I especially enjoy working with clients ages 18-35. I focus on the importance of self-care as it is essential to treating the whole person. I believe in the benefits of integrating faith and counseling, but I am respectful that this is a personal choice. I value the human-animal bond and encourage including companion animals when possible.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military Culture and Military Families from Walden University and my certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2016. I have 10+ years of experience working with clients as a Graduate student Intern, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. In January 2020 I opened my private therapy practice. I have experience walking along the healing journey and supporting Veterans, Military service members and their families, older teens and young adults, adults that have been through the foster care system or adopted, couples, and those experiencing grief and loss. Many of my clients specifically seek out Christian or Faith-based counseling services. I offer an integrative, collaborative approach to counseling that is unique to my client’s needs and can include art, music, mindfulness, improving self-care, and the inclusion of companion animals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe my own experiences and knowledge will be beneficial to build a healthy therapeutic relationship. I provide a safe space and empathetic presence where you can share whatever is keeping you from living your best life. Together we will explore what your unique needs are so you can be the person you want to be.
