About My Clients
I work with LGBT+/queer issues, gender exploration and transition, codependency and relationship trauma, anxiety disorders, neurodivergence, chronic illness/medical trauma, family trauma, religious trauma/cult deconstruction, and grief/loss. I also work with non-monogamous, poly, and kink clients and couples.
My Background and Approach
I grew and and attended school in Florida at the University of Central Florida, receiving both my undergrad and Master's from UCF prior to starting my private practice in 2020. I've worked throughout my schooling at a few residential inpatient treatment facilities for mental health disorders, substance abuse disorders, human trafficking survivors, and gang member rehabilitation. While I loved working in these environments with teens, and learned a lot about stress management and crisis management, I am now doing traditional talk therapy on my own seeing clients in lower levels of need. In my therapy I try to center my clients throughout our time together. I may have the training, schooling, and job experience - but I haven't lived your life (as similar as our backgrounds and demographics may be). I try to utilize Gestalt therapy techniques - meaning I focus on feedback (both from verbal patterns I catch while we talk, and nonverbal) in our sessions to bounce off of.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone wants to grow into better versions of themselves as we age, and that we often need a third party to ping pong information, thoughts, fears, anxieties, and excitement off of to help funnel it towards change and exploration. I love helping someone that struggles with boundaries, insecurities, or knowing themselves grow into someone who is confident and sure of their decisions and choices. I love incorporating spirituality and alternative methods of reflection if that's something you already find a lot of direction and passion for into therapy. These can be such things like astrology, enneagram, and tarot as a way to help us identify patterns and points of progress we can work on. I love hearing about narrative influences that spark a memory or thought, and exploring them together - like dreams, Tiktoks, movies and TV Shows that are important to you.
