About My Clients
People come to me when they are feeling stuck, looking to be understood, struggling and in pain, or aware that things that happened in the past are affecting them now—what we often call trauma. This shows up as relationship challenges, internal criticism, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, insecurity, and shame. The stresses of marginalization exacerbate everything. My goals are to help you feel more like yourself, bring you more balance and ease, improve your connection to yourself and others.
My Background and Approach
I am a New Yorker who has found a home in the Bay Area for over 20 years. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in tech, struggling in an environment where it was hard to be my full self. During those years, I managed by writing, traveling, and developing a meditation/yoga practice, all of which helped me make a career transition to therapy. My primary approach is IFS (Internal Family Systems, which helps you recognize the parts of you that are running your life—the protective parts that are trying to keep you safe and comfortable, as well as the more vulnerable parts that have been hidden away. By getting to know and understand these different parts of you, we can help them heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a member of LGBTQ+ communities for the past 25 years, I devote a large portion of my work to supporting queer and trans folks. I also enjoy working with cis het men who are open to vulnerability. I welcome people of all identities.
