About My Clients
Much of my clinical work has been helping people who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. In addition, I have experience helping people with insomnia and chronic pain utilizing specific variations of CBT. I have also been trained in EMDR to help people who have experienced trauma and to better manage stress.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Indiana University with a PhD in counseling psychology with a minor in addiction and public health. I have been working with people to help them reach their mental health related goals since 2017 in various treatment settings. My approach to therapy is humanistic and person-centered at its core. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy to help people reach their goals. In addition, I will meet you where you are in your process and have a collaborative approach to creating and adjusting treatment plans and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My interest in helping people reach their mental health goals was born out of personal struggle with anxiety and substance use. I have been active in the recovery community for over 11 years now in a professional and volunteer capacity. In addition, I have volunteered at a variety of conferences and public speaking opportunities focused on helping people across the lifespan better manage anxiety and stress. Helping people reach their mental health related goals has long been a passion of mine. I am consistently striving to create a safe therapeutic space for all regardless of beliefs, identities, and background.
