About My Clients
Although I support individuals throughout the adult lifespan, I specialize in supporting clients who are 55 years and older and to have a history of traumatic experience or are currently experiencing major life transitions. I am also skilled at supporting individuals who are caring for an aging adult.
My Background and Approach
I have a master's in Counseling and am currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Missouri -St. Louis. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in mindfulness, emotion-focused interventions, and person-centered, trauma-informed care, all grounded in a commitment to social justice. I integrate elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT) to foster emotional regulation, build meaningful connections, and honor each person's lived experience. My goal is to create a compassionate, collaborative space where healing, growth, and resilience can unfold.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach is grounded in Black Feminism and the belief that healing and growth happen in safe, collaborative, and affirming relationships. My belief in the power of human potential to heal and grow at any age is rooted in my experience as an educator, researcher, avid gardener.
